Houston High’s Lillian Jiang Shines on National Stage for Roller Skating

Houston High School’s Lillian Jiang, an 11th-grade student, continues to impress both in and out of the rink. Jiang recently earned 3rd place in the Youth Girls Free Skating event at the 2024 USARS National Championships held in Lincoln, Nebraska. This achievement followed her 2nd place finish at the 2024 Southern Regional Championships in Orlando, Florida, marking her fourth consecutive year competing at the national level.

Jiang’s dedication to skating spans over a decade, and her hard work was further rewarded when she took 1st place in Senior Women Freestyle at the 2024 American Artistic Roller-Skating Championship in Union, Missouri.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Jiang excels academically and artistically. She was selected for the prestigious ALL-WEST Violin Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Longlong Kang and took part in the Summer Healthcare Experience in Oncology Program at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, where she explored career opportunities in oncology with support from her Houston High teacher, Mr. John Kennon.

Jiang’s achievements embody the Houston High spirit of excellence, showing that with dedication, students can reach new heights in multiple arenas.
