Back to School: Start Your Horsepower!

The countdown to a new school year is officially underway, and we are excited to welcome our Mustangs back to Houston High School!

Back to school events are designed to help students reconnect, get organized, and feel prepared for the road ahead. Students in grades 10 through 12 will begin with schedule pick up on Tuesday, July 28, followed by Freshman Orientation for the Class of 2030 on Thursday, July 30. A make up schedule pick up opportunity will also be available on Tuesday, August 4.

These events are an important first stop before the school year begins. Students will have the opportunity to receive important information, prepare for their classes, and start the year feeling confident and ready. Freshman Orientation will also help our newest Mustangs become familiar with Houston, connect with their school community, and begin their high school journey with Mustang pride.

Review the calendar below for complete dates, times, and event details as we get ready to launch the 2026–27 school year. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 5. Let’s start strong, stay connected, and make this year one to remember!
