The American Chemistry Society “Chem Club” at Houston High School provides students with the opportunity to engage in extracurricular, hands-on experiences as science ambassadors. This club fosters collaboration among peers and underclassmen, enhancing their chemical education beyond the classroom.

ArtFlow is a club that aims to explore creativity, build confidence, and find belonging. We collaborate with the neurodivergent students of HHS to bring them hands-on learning with various artistic techniques to create and encourage another avenue of self-expression for them.

The Asian and Pacific Islander club was established at Houston High School during the 2023-2024 school year.  The goal of AAPI at Houston High School is to provide an environment to Asian and Pacific Islander minorities to freely express their cultures.  Students organize club meetings with peers of similar backgrounds to provide opportunities to build community, learn and discuss other values and perspectives.  Meetings build networks of friendships, facilitate discussions, occasional crafts, food and fun.  Members in the AAPI Club organize fundraisers, for which the proceeds from events will go towards community and worldly causes.

The Band Studio Club is a space for band students to collaborate, practice, and grow as musicians. Students use this time to work on music, prepare for performances, and support one another in a creative and focused environment. This club is limited to members of the band program.

The mission of Facing History and Ourselves is to promote critical thinking and dialogue about historical events and their relevance today.  Students gather and complete Facing History and Ourselves assignments on a computer and attend a local conference series.

The purpose of FCCLA is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. The Fantasy Sports Club allows students to draft teams and compete against each other in Fantasy Football and Fantasy Basketball leagues.

The Film Club is dedicated to exploring and discussing movies as well as the fundamentals of amateur filmmaking. Members engage in conversations about various films and learn about the processes involved in creating short films, fostering an appreciation for cinema and hands-on filmmaking experiences.

The Hispanic and Latino Student Association is a student-led club that provides Hispanic, Latino, and non-Hispanic students of all backgrounds at HHS the opportunity to come together and build a stronger community bond.

The International Club promotes cultural diversity and awareness. Students explore different cultures' traditions, foods, dress and customs.  Every year in the Spring, the International Club organizes and produces the International Extravaganza, a lively celebration of cultures through international dance, music, poetry, fashion, food and more.

The Investment Club provides students with hands-on experience in the world of investing. Members learn the fundamentals of the stock market, explore different investment types, and discuss current economic trends shaping the business world. Through a use of monthly simulations, students develop critical thinking and decision-making skills that prepare them for future financial success. The club encourages collaboration, curiosity, and a practical understanding of how money works in today’s economy.

The Jewish Student Association (J Club) aims to educate the non-Jewish student body about Jewish history, culture, and relevant issues. It provides the Jewish student community with meaningful connections, resources, and a safe space, offering educational support related to their culture and religion.

Houston's Knowledge Bowl team works together to prepare for a Jeopardy-style game focused on a mixture of curriculum-based and everyday life (trivia) questions about science, literature, history, math, geography, music, art and current events.  The Knowledge Bowl team competes in local Quiz Bowl games throughout the year.

The Junior Classical League's purpose is to encourage an interest in and appreciation of the language, literature, mythology, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiquity. Our organization is open to current, future, and former Latin students and all who are interested in the ancient world. We compete and excel in many local, state, and national competitions.

The Ping Pong Club brings this popular sport to the students of Houston High School, creating an inclusive, lighthearted atmosphere that fosters camaraderie across grade levels. Members meet monthly to play ping pong, socialize, and organize tournaments within the group.
