Football Jamboree jumps starts the season with a gallop

Last Friday, our 2022 football season began at the Municipal School Football Jamboree held at Landers Ford Stadium on Principle Toyota Field at Houston High School.

Houston Football started the season with a bang by beating Millington 33-0 and Bartlett 7-0 in our last action before the regular season begins this Friday at home vs. Ridgeway at 7:00pm.

The scoring against Millington started on defense when sophomore Garrett Hagan scooped up a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown on the first possession.

On the first offensive possession of the night, senior Tristan Lurry ran 55 yards off the right side for our next touchdown.

The defense stepped up again when junior Karlos Humphreys grabbed another Millington fumble and returned it to the 4 yard line.

Junior Damon Sisa scored his first of two touchdowns vs. the Trojans on the next play from 4 yards out.

After another defensive stop, the Mustangs scored thru the air. Sophomore quarterback Chandler Day threw a 30 yard touchdown to fellow sophomore Derrick Miller, Jr for Houston's fourth touchdown of the scrimmage.

Sisa closed out the scoring with his second touchdown on a 47 yard run.
