Welcome to Houston High School

Houston High School is a premiere high school located in Germantown, TN. Our 70 acre campus serves students in grades 9-12. Established in 1989, Houston has a reputation for encouraging students to excel both academically and in their extra-curricular activities. Are you a rising freshman? Did you know that Houston High School is still accepting new students for the 24-25 school year? Through the Houston High School Academies, students can apply for acceptance through either our Honors Academy or Leadership Academy. To learn more about the Academies at HHS, follow the link below. We would love to welcome new Mustangs to Houston and show you what reppin' the H is all about.

New to Houston? We offer tours throughout the year, and each of these experiences will be unique. We hope to showcase what our school has to offer so that each student can find their place at HHS. If you are an athlete, we would showcase some of our collegiate level facilities. If you are an artist, we would share all of the incredible ways that you would have the chance to display your art at Houston. Tours also allow students the chance to meet some potential classmates and teachers. Tours are available at noon any day or at a time that meets your schedule.

HHS has a reputation for academic excellence. In the class of 2024, there are 15 National Merit Finalists, and in the previous class of 2023, 89 students scored a 30 or high on the ACT, with 3 students receiving a perfect score. 97% of Houston graduates in 2023 matriculated to institutions of higher education.

We encourage our students to get involved, and with over 80 clubs and activites, there is a place for everyone! The College Board advises getting involved, and Houston High School has countless clubs and activities where all students can participate and grow. The average Houston student is involved in two clubs or activities.'

In spring of 2023, Houston’s theater program brought home six different award from HSMTA for Chicago: Teen Edition, including Best Overall Production. Students involved in the visual arts program have created pieces that live all throughout the city. Our band, orchestra, and choir students consistently have the opportunity to present their gifts all across the world.'

Our Honors Academy pushes students to be their very best through rigorous academic course work. Our Leadership Academy provides students with an interest in leadership opportunities a space to practice their leadship skills and learn from leaders within their community. Both of these academies require an attitude of dedication and service to the community. The academies at Houston are nationally recognized, with many of our academy students continuing their education through fully paid through scholarships, including several Presidential and Nation Merit scholars.
