Senior ACT Retake Information

The Senior ACT Retake will be administered this Tuesday, October, 17, 2023, at Houston High School.

Please review the following details:

  • All seniors are automatically enrolled in this test. You do not have to sign up for anything. The test is offered for free for all seniors by the Tennessee Department of Education.
  • Testing will be online. Scratch paper will be provided.
  • Students should plan to arrive on campus and report directly to their testing locations starting at 7:30am. Testing will begin promptly at 7:45am.
  • On test day, seniors will receive their myACT account information for this test. Students must follow the instructions on this document in order to receive their score and send their score to schools.
  • Seniors are permitted to leave campus when testing is complete in their room with the signed permission form. If a senior does not drive and cannot arrange alternate transportation, normal bus transportation will be provided at 2:45pm. Students who need to ride the bus will remain on campus and follow the adjusted bell schedule with all other students.

Junior Practice ACT Information

All juniors will be completing a full-length practice ACT test this Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Please review the following details:

  • All juniors automatically enrolled in this practice test. You do not have to sign up for anything.
  • This practice ACT test will be online. Scratch paper will be provided. 
  • Please bring your charged chromebook to the session.
  • Students should plan to arrive on campus and report directly to their testing locations starting at 7:30am. Testing will begin promptly at 7:45am.
  • Although this is a practice test, we will provide students with their score following the assessment. HHS will also use those scores to provide additional guidance as we prepare for all juniors to take the official ACT test in March 2024.
  • Juniors are permitted to leave campus when testing is complete in their room with the signed permission form . If a junior does not drive and cannot arrange alternate transportation, normal bus transportation will be provided at 2:45pm. EOC Sessions for 9th & 10th Graders

While our juniors and seniors will be taking the ACT tomorrow, all freshmen and sophomores will be completing EOC Sessions in English and Math during the morning on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

  • Students should plan to arrive on campus and report directly to their EOC session locations.
  • Please see this EOC session locations document to identify where you will report tomorrow.
    • You will need to know your math teacher's last name and your class period.
    • In the teacher of record column, look for your math teacher's last name. Then, identify your class period in the period column. You will report directly to the room number under the assigned room column.
  •  Staff members will be stationed in the hallways helping direct students to the appropriate locations.
