Houston High School Ambassadors Join Local Leaders for Breakfast Events

This quarter, Houston High School ambassadors had the honor of attending two key community breakfast meetings, showcasing their leadership and student perspectives. First, students participated in the Leadership Germantown Alumni Association's breakfast at City Silo, followed by an engaging morning with the Germantown Kiwanis Club.

At the Kiwanis meeting, discussions centered on student government, education, and community improvement. Houston High’s ambassadors shared their school experiences, emphasizing the importance of collaboration. “The breakfast was good, but the people were better,” said Bryan Jegier, a senior at Houston High, highlighting the strong sense of community present. Senior Brianna Carr echoed this sentiment: “It’s a joy to represent my school. It was a pleasure to meet such talented and service-minded individuals at the Kiwanis Club of Germantown.”

Earlier, at the Leadership Germantown Alumni breakfast, senior Michaela Johnson represented Houston High’s arts and activities programs. “I had the privilege of sharing insights on our Student Government Association, a variety of clubs, and our vibrant art department,” Johnson shared. “Engaging with Leadership Germantown broadened my understanding of leadership and community involvement.”

These events not only provided students with the opportunity to share their perspectives but also allowed them to connect across generations, learning from Germantown’s civic leaders. Both the Kiwanis and Leadership Germantown breakfasts strengthened the partnerships between Houston High and the broader community, reinforcing the shared goal of fostering leadership and service.

“We deeply value these opportunities to learn from our community partners,” said Johnson. “They inspire us to contribute more actively to both our school and the city.”

As Houston High continues to collaborate with local organizations, the impact of these breakfast events is clear—building connections, encouraging leadership, and inspiring students to make a difference.
