Senior Postsecondary Day
Senior Postsecondary Day is Tuesday, March 26, 2024! While underclassmen are completing the ACT and end-of-course test reviews, any senior who would like to take a college visit, job shadow, or perform community service hours may do so on this date.
This is a great opportunity to visit a nearby campus, meet with someone in financial aid, complete your 8 hours of community service for TN Promise, or explore a career that you think you might be interested in pursuing. With the signed permission form, the absence will be counted as a field trip.
Seniors who report to campus on this date will have the opportunity to complete the ACT WorkKeys Assessment or other postsecondary career exploration activities.
Please complete the attached form to indicate which option your senior will participate in on this date. The form must be completed, finalized with parent signature, and turned into the attendance office by Monday, March 25, 2024.
Regular attendance procedures will apply for those students who do not complete and turn in a form by the deadline.
We look forward to a valuable experience for our students as we head into the last quarter of their senior year!
The Junior ACT will be administered on Tuesday, March 26, 2024! The ACT will be administered online.
- Juniors do not have to sign up for anything. All juniors at HHS are automatically enrolled in this test. The test is paid for by the State of Tennessee.
- Please plan to arrive on campus and report directly to the testing location beginning at 7:30am. Testing will begin promptly at 7:45am.
- Please see the attached testing locations.
- Students who test with approved accommodations should report to the Study Hall.
- On test day, juniors will receive their myACT account information for this test. Students must follow the instructions on this document within 48 hours in order to receive their scores and send their scores to schools.
- Junior students are permitted to leave after testing concludes (approximately 12:00pm) with the attached permission form. If a junior student does not drive and you cannot provide alternate transportation, normal bus transportation will be provided at 2:45pm. Juniors who remain on campus will report to the cafeteria following testing.

- Chromebook, fully charged with charger
- #2 pencils
- ACT Approved Calculator (ACT Calculator Policy)

The Sophomore Practice ACT will be administered on Tuesday, March 26, 2024! The Practice ACT will be administered on paper.
- All Sophomores at HHS are automatically enrolled in this test, and the test is paid for by our district. Sophomores do not have to sign up for anything.
- Please plan to arrive on campus and report directly to the testing location beginning at 7:30am. Testing will begin promptly at 7:45am.
- Please see the attached testing locations.
- For the purposes of practice, all students will test under regular timed conditions.
- Students will receive their practice score within a few weeks of test administration.

- #2 pencils
- ACT Approved Calculator (ACT Calculator Policy)
After testing and lunch, all sophomores will attend three personalized sessions: one session of end-of-course test prep for English, one session of end-of-course test prep for math, and one Horsepower Hustle session of activities led by seniors.
Schedule:
Sophomores will receive a personal email with their assigned sessions and locations. Staff will also be on hand to provide schedules and help as needed. Attendance will be taken.
Mustangs Mastery Day: Rev Up Your Academic Horsepower is Tuesday, March 26, 2024! This event, designed specifically for our freshmen while our upperclassmen are completing the ACT, focuses on how to finish the year strong and preparing for end-of-course tests!
During Mustang Mastery Day, all freshmen will attend the following sessions:
- Two sessions of end-of-course English prep
- Two sessions of end-of-course math prep
- Ride Into Your Future: Harness your Personal Brand Potential session led by GMSD ambassadors
- Horsepower Hustle session led by seniors
We are also looking forward to welcoming to campus Ms. Chelsea Chandler, the award-winning meteorologist and reporter at FOX13 Memphis and Co-Host of Good Morning Memphis Wknd. Ms. Chandler will share her journey and inspire our students to live their best lives in high school!
Freshmen will receive a personal email with their assigned sessions and locations following the schedule below. Staff will also be on hand to provide schedules and help as needed. Attendance will be taken.
