September 2024--GMSD is finalizing its annual goals focused on literacy, algebra readiness, and preparing students for life beyond graduation, and we invite families to provide feedback on these plans.

September 2024--GMSD celebrated Freedom Week with engaging activities across all grade levels, fostering students' understanding of the U.S. Constitution and the principles of citizenship.

September 2024--Houston High School recently hosted its annual College Fair, featuring over 60 college and military representatives who provided valuable insights into future academic paths, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol visited for Career Chats!

September 2024-- HHS proudly announces that several students have received national honors from the College Board for their academic achievements. Recognized in programs such as the National African American, Hispanic, and First-Generation Recognition Programs, these students exemplify dedication and excellence.

September 2024–Houston High School celebrated Homecoming 2024 with a week of themed dress-up days, spirited activities, and of course a dance. The festivities culminated in a color wars pep rally and a dominant 42-3 football victory over Cordova.

September, 16, 2024: Today is the last day to sign up and pay for the PSAT. September 2024--We are thrilled to announce that nine of our exceptional students have been recognized as Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

September 2024-- The GMSD Ambassadors, a group of student representatives, are gearing up for their fall debut at the Leadership Germantown Alumni meeting and Germantown Neighborhood Summit on September 24.
